    Protect your client's race car when it's off the track with Limited Trailer and Paddock (LTP) coverage.

    Hagerty’s program provides off-track coverage for race cars, dragsters, pro-street, and raced motorcycle

    Coverages available (off-track only*)

    Full coverage

    For street legal race cars, CollisionOther than Collision, and Liability are available, depending on state guidelines.

    State Specific Guidelines
    • Florida: No coverage restrictions when vehicle's track use is for High-Performance Driver's Education events, Track Days or Autocross only. Additional or Extended PIP will not be offered if used for other racing or timed events.
    • Kansas: Full coverage can be offered when vehicle's track use is for High-Performance Driver's Education events, Track Days or Autocross only. Comprehensive and Limited Trailer and Paddock Collision is available if used for other racing or timed events.
    • New York: Full coverage can be offered when vehicle's track use is for High-Performance Driver's Education events, Track Days or Autocross only. Comprehensive and Limited Trailer and Paddock Collision is available if used for other racing or timed events.
    • North Carolina: Full coverage can be offered when vehicle's track use is for High-Performance Driver's Education events, Track Days or Autocross only. Comprehensive and Limited Trailer and Paddock Collision is available if used for other racing or timed events.
    • Texas: No coverage restrictions when vehicle's track use is for High-Performance Driver's Education events, Track Days or Autocross only. PIP, Uninsured Motorist BI and Uninsured Motorist PD will not be offered if used for other racing or timed events.
    • Virginia: Full coverage can be offered when vehicle's track use is for High-Performance Driver's Education events, Track Days or Autocross only. Comprehensive and Collision coverage is available if used for other racing or timed events.

    Limited collision

    For purpose-built race cars (non-street legal), Limited Collision coverage is available to protect the car while it is:

    • Being loaded or unloaded from the trailer
    • In transport by trailer
    • On display in the paddock or show area
    • In the paddock or being driven to and from
    • In storage
    • At a service facility

    Note: Limited Collision is only available when combined with Other Than Collision.

    Comprehensive/Other Than Collision

    For race cars, we can offer comp-only insurance coverage for losses not resulting from an accident, such as theft, fire, or natural disasters.

    *Coverage does not apply when the vehicle is on the track racing.

    We can protect the following vehicles:

    Race cars

    To qualify for our program, race cars must meet the following, in addition to our normal guidelines:

    • Minimum value is $3,500
    • Applicant and drivers must have 10 years driving experience

    Dragsters

    To qualify for our program, dragsters must meet the following:

    • Minimum value is $3,500
    • Vehicle must be in very good or better condition
    • Applicant and drivers must have 10 years driving experience
    • No professional racing teams

    Pro-street

    Pro-street cars are generally from the 1960s or ‘70s and have been modified primarily for straight-line speed. Common modifications include roll cages, tubbed rear wheel-wells to accommodate wide racing-type tires, five-point racing harnesses, lightened interiors with racing seats, wheelie casters, parachutes and power adding features to engine. Hagerty considers a vehicle to be pro-street when it is tubbed AND caged. To qualify for our program, pro-street cars must meet the following:

    • Vehicle must be street legal in order to provide full coverage
    • Minimum value is $15,000
    • Vehicle must be in very good or better condition, unless under active restoration
    • Applicant and drivers must have 10 years' driving experience
    • Named Driver Exclusions or a Youthful Non-Operator Warranty will be applied to any youthful household members licensed less than 10 years
    • Vehicles with more than 900 horsepower may qualify for comprehensive/limited trailer and paddock coverage only

    Raced motorcycles

    • Any year motorcycle may be considered with Comprehensive/Limited Trailer and Paddock Coverage only
    • Motorcycles can be stock or modified
    • No professional race teams
    • Applicants and/or operators must have at least 10 years’ driving experience
    • Minimum value is $2,000. Collections of 3 or more motorcycles—minimum value is $1,000 per bike.
    • Dirt track and motocross bikes are acceptable.
      • Motorcycle must be street legal in order to consider full coverage. Follow non-raced Motorcycle guidelines as well if pursuing full coverage.
      • Requests for full coverage on a street legal, raced motorcycle is an exception and must be supported with a strong profile.

    State coverage limitations** include:

    • FL: Additional or Extended PIP will not be offered
    • KS, NC & NY: Only Comprehensive and Limited Trailer and Paddock Collision is available
    • TX: PIP, Uninsured Motorist BI and Uninsured Motorist PD must be rejected
    • VA: Only Comprehensive and Collision coverage is available

    ** State coverage limitations do not apply when the vehicle's track use is limited to High-Performance Driver's Education events, Track Days or Autocross
