It all started in a little resort town in Northern Lower Michigan with a wooden boat named Pipe Dream. Its proud owners, Frank and Louise Hagerty, had run a successful general insurance agency for many years yet found it impossible to find coverage for their classic craft. The Hagertys saw a niche to be filled and in 1983, they combined their insurance expertise with their love for wooden boats and formed Hagerty Classic Marine Insurance Agency.
